At Edison, choir is more than just singing — it’s a space where students grow as musicians, leaders, and human beings. Through purposeful music-making, we strengthen vocal and musical skills while also nurturing social-emotional growth, community, and belonging.
Our program offers four dynamic ensembles, each providing unique opportunities for artistry and connection: Ingenuity (Advanced Treble Choir), Impact (Basso Choir), Insight (Treble Choir), and Festival Chorus (Combined Choir). Together, these choirs form a vibrant community rooted in purpose, creativity, and shared passion for music
Conductor-teacher Kole Butler is currently the choral director at Edison High School in Fairfax County Public Schools in Alexandria, VA. In addition to his work within the classroom, he serves on the executive board of the Virginia chapter of the American Choral Directors Association, is a member of the vocal music faculty for the Virginia Governor's School for Visual & Performing Arts, and co-hosts the podcast Young Conductors, which aims to inspire, educate, and encourage aspiring conductor-teachers. He holds a master’s degree in choral conducting and music education from Radford University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in voice performance from West Virginia University. Kole maintains an active schedule as a guest clinician, adjudicator, and presenter, collaborating with singers across the region.
